Situation

Mesh panels were required to be installed between the concrete beams that support the M62 over one of its main roundabouts, where pigeons had been roosting.

Solution

Firstly, Reactive Group disinfected and cleaned away all bird guano using specialist cleaning methods. Then the team fabricated and installed hinged bird exclusion screens between each beam to stop pigeons from roosting there.

Works were carried out at night to minimise disruption to motorway users.
